ENGLISH VERSION - POLO CLUB

History This club was founded in 1929 to promote the game of Polo. The name "Coronel Suárez Polo Club" is now well known throughout the world thanks to the regular tours made by our teams and the outstanding quality of the teams them-selves had the individual players. The club is very proud of the fact that it was the first in the history of world polo to produce a team which had a total handicap of 40. We have won the Argentine Open Tournament 26 times, and the Republica Argentina Cup 15 times, in both cases winning more often than any other club. The Argentine team consisting of the Harriott brothers and the Heguy brothers (all members of our club) has twice won the American Cup.
The Club Today The club has 7 Polo fields with boards and irrigation, and a magnificent Golf course of 18 holes, witch have produced players of the high-test level, both amateur and professional. It also has 4 tennis courts, a squash court and a swimming pool. The Club House is in the middle of this sport complex and has a restaurant where members and their friends con enjoy lunch or dinner as well as room for meeting. The club celebrates it's anniversary in the month of April when is played the Belgrano Cup (open) and the Third of February (handicap), this last being the years, most important tournament between the 8 teams with the largest handicaps including the best National and International players. At the same time the Belgrano Junior Cup competition takes place to encourage polo for the young.
Club's Activities POLO The club has more than 70 Polo playing members which makes it possible to arrange games every week-end as follows: Saturdays: high handicap players and low handicap players play together mixed. Sundays: high and low handicap players play separately Tournaments are played between January and September, in which month many players go to Buenos Aires to represent as the most important National tournaments.
GOLF Tournaments are played every weekend. Twice a month the tournaments are open and we count with guests from other cities.
TENNIS The courts are open every day and tournaments are played every weekend. Most of the tennis activity takes place during the summer months (December through march).
